Admilson Gomes Pires now faces a minimum of 10 years and up to life in prison following the five-day trial in Boston, according to Acting US Attorney for Massachusetts Joshua S. Levy.

Federal investigators said Pires met up with the child in February 2019 after she ran away from her home and began a sexual relationship. What followed was a campaign of grooming and control that led the girl into a life of sexual servitude, police said.

Pires first sold her for sex to a family member in Dorchester, the prosecutor said, and then created an online commercial to advertise her for such services for a price. That ad included explicit photographs and a video of the child.

Pires told the girl he would leave her if she did not go through with this, federal investigators said. Pires then manipulated an adult woman into keeping the girl at her Norwood apartment in exchange for drugs while he pimped the child out to strangers for money that he kept, Levy's office said.

Federal agents rescued the girl in August 2019 and returned her home, authorities said.

“Mr. Pires preyed on a vulnerable child, subjected her to unimaginable exploitation and pocketed the profits. and now he will pay the price,” Levy said. “Sex traffickers like Mr. Pires inflict immeasurable trauma and harm. This conduct is despicable and has no place in a civilized society."
